Syria’s Prime Minister Mustapha Miro concluded a two-day visit to Turkey, predicting a "brilliant future" for relations between the two countries, which he termed, "two brotherly countries." Miro is the first Syrian Prime Minister to visit Turkey in seventeen years.

"I can see a brilliant future for our relations as long as this proximity goes on," Miro said late Wednesday, addressing a meeting of Turkish and Syrian business leaders in Istanbul.

According to Anatolia news agency, Miro added that Damascus and Ankara had "interests in common," and that he considered their relationship to be a strategic one. Turkey and Syria ought to establish an "economic and commercial union," he added. (Albawaba.com)
