Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will begin his visit to the British capital of London in the next two days. The Syrian leader's visit marks the first of its kind since he ascended to power in 2000, according to a report Saturday.
On Monday, the Syrian leader is expected to hold talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in 10 Downing Street and will also meet with Queen of England Elizabeth II and Crown Prince Charles on Tuesday, according to KUNA news agency.
Later on Wednesday, the Syrian President will hold a meeting with opposition leaders. The Syrian leader’s talks are expected to focus, among others, on the Iraqi issue, a possible US attack against Baghdad and the conflict with Israel. (Albawaba.com)
