Syrian President Bashar Assad arrives on Wednesday in Spain for talks on bilateral and regional issues with King Juan Carlos and Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, reported the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA).
During his three-day visit, Assad will also meet with European Commission President Romano Prodi, said the agency.
Assad's visit is the first by a Syrian president to Spain. Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Pique held talks with Assad in Damascus last Thursday during a Middle East tour that took him to four other countries – Albawaba.com
