There is a wide variety of products on display at this edition of the fair, highlighting the growing number of national companies participating in the event.
Commenting on the ‘Made in UAE’ pavilion, H.E. Dr. Lutfi said, “We are glad to see that the pavilion is attracting a large number of visitors. The quality and quantity of products on display at the ‘Made in UAE’ pavilion has been growing with every passing year, which is a reflection of the significant progress and advancement made by the UAE.”
“We thank the organisers of the UAE pavilion for their participation in this important event which serves to enhance the relationship between both countries. We wish the best for the people behind the UAE pavilion and we hope that the “Made in UAE” series is successful in all exhibitions and fairs it will be a part of,” he added.
At the end of the tour, Al Mazrouei hosted Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry and discussed with him the participation of the “Made in UAE” series in the forthcoming events.
Khalid Alkhalaki said, “The UAE pavilion has attracted a large number of participating companies, fostering investments and serving as a platform for finalising major business deals that will benefit all parties. Our participation in this edition of the event has generated an overwhelming response from visitors. Last year’s participation facilitated the signing of deals worth millions of Dirhams and we hope this number will increase further this year.”
“We thank the Public Establishment for International Fairs and Exhibitions (PEIFE) for its hospitability, and we are also grateful to the UAE and Syrian Embassies for their continued support to all exhibitors. We hope that our participation this year will add value to this event and take the level of cooperation between the UAE and Syria to new heights,” he added.
This year’s participation at the Damascus International Fair follows the success generated by the 'Made in UAE' series held in Egypt, Yemen, Tanzania and Oman. It is part of the government’s plan to support the national economy and consolidate the role of local companies by opening new markets for national products, boosting UAE’s exports and furthering cooperation with other countries. The UAE’s participation through the “Made in UAE” series is an indicator of the healthy ties between the UAE and Syria. ADNEC ensures that the 'Made in UAE' series is visible at all similar events as it provides an opportunity to introduce and market the country’s products to the outside world.
The first edition of the Damascus International Fair was held in 1954. Forty six countries are participating in this year’s edition which goes on till September 12. The UAE contingent with 16 companies from the private and public sector is a major participation in the event. The fair has been a meeting point for trade, economic and cultural exchange and is successfully reflecting the sound base of the Syrian Industry and Trade.
