Syria received on Saturday the last delivery of medical assistance, which was dispatched in the framework of the medical cooperation between Syria and the European Union.
Syria’s Health Minister, Dr. Mohammed Iyad Al-Shatti received the delivery in the presence of the Delegation’s Head, European Commission to the country, Ambassador Frank Heiske and the Resident Representative of the UN Population Fund, Mostapha Benzine.
Dr. Shatti expressed thanks and appreciation to the EU and the international organizations, which care about issues of health, and added that the process of modernizing and developing the medical sphere in Syria is an ongoing one, aimed at achieving a better future, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.
Fifteen mobile hospitals, financed by the EU and other international organizations, will be in service outside main city centers within a short period of time, Shatti added.
On his part, Ambassador Heiske expressed pleasure on attending the delivery ceremony, praising Syria’s highly qualified medical cadres who are exerting their utmost efforts in updating the medical field. (Albawaba.com)
