Images of the damage allegedly done by Israeli strikes on a research center close to Damascus, have been aired on Syrian state TV, AP reported on Sunday.

The footage, broadcast on the Al-Ikhbariya network and state TV, show destroyed vehicles and damage to the research facility that was reportedly the target on an Israeli strike on Tuesday night.

While the U.S. government has claimed that Israel attacked a convoy of anti-aircraft weapons, set to be sent to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Jewish state has so far refused to accept responsibility for the strike.

The Syrian government summoned the head of a United Nations mission in the Golan Heights on Thursday to protest against the incursion by Israel.

The Jewish state has expressed increasing concerns over the potential use of chemical weapons in Syria although there has been no conclusive evidence so far that the weapons have been used.
