Syria's Bar Association strongly denounced Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader Dr. Abdul Aziz Rantissi and decided to stop legal hearings across the country for some time Tuesday in protest against the new Israeli murder.
The Association said in a statement Monday, cited by SANA news agency, that all Syrian lawyers will be on strike Tuesday from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m.
They will stop court procedures in all courts, according to the report. In addition, the lawyers will organize sit-in protests against Israel’s killing of Rantissi.
The statement said the strike will be in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Arab Federation of Lawyers. (Albawaba.com)
