Regarding statements about convening an international conference on peace, the Syrian Foreign Minister said that the, “Sharon government is not a government of peace” adding that the European states should exert pressure on Israel and force it to withdraw from the occupied Arab territories to the June 4,1967 lines, SANA added.

With regards to the regional peace conference proposed by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the Syrian Minister said that “the proposal has been rejected by Syria and the other Arab states because it does not realize peace.” (Albawaba.com)
