Switzerland said Monday it has boosted security around "sensitive" buildings following the US-led bombing raids on Afghanistan in retaliation for last month's terror attacks.
Since Sunday night, police have been stepped up surveillance of the residence of the US ambassador to Bern after taking similar action at the residences of the British, Israeli and Turkish ambassadors, foreign ministry spokeswoman Daniele Bersier said.
"The diplomatic missions of other exposed states also have greater protection," she said without elaborating, adding that security patrols have also increased at official and public buildings such as Zurich airport -- BERN (AFP)
