Swiss Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Deiss hailed Wednesday the formidable steps made by the UAE over the last thirty years. “These significant achievements, which were only possible due to the visionary leadership of President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, have won the UAE great respect and admiration throughout the world” Deiss stated in a letter to Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Zayed Center.
Emirates News Agency reports that the letter was sent as a sign of appreciation for the Zayed Center’s initiative to release a book on UAE-Switzerland ties.
Regarding the two countries’ relations, Dr. Francois Barras, Swiss Ambassador to the UAE claimed that the UAE and Switzerland had enjoyed “long-standing” relations for the last thirty years.
Deiss conveyed the message that the UAE has enormously distinguished itself as a wonderful crossing point between East and West. (Albawaba.com)
