A car laden with explosives blew up at a checkpoint jointly manned by Shiite militiamen and the Iraqi army in Samarra, just north of Baghdad, reports Associated Press.
The explosion killed four militamen and two soldiers and injured at least 16 others.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet.
