Six Iraqi soldiers were injured Sunday in a suicide bombing in the western Anbar province, according to a military officer.

A bomber detonated his explosive vest near a group of soldiers who were checking the site of another bombing in the city of Hit, 70 kilometers west of Ramadi, Col. Walid al-Delimi said.

He said two soldiers were seriously injured.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.

On Saturday, a suicide bombing struck a political party headquarters in Anbar, killing one and injuring nine others.
