ALBAWABA - At least three people were killed in a suicide bombing that targeted a police station on the Pakistani border with Afghanistan, AFP reported Monday.
Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in a suicide bombing on Monday at a border police headquarters in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani police announced in a statement.
Peshawar police chief Mian Saeed told AFP that three people carried out a suicide attack against the "border police headquarters," killing "three members of the security forces who were guarding the entrance and injuring four others."
The attack took place at 8:10 a.m. local time at the police station, located on Sadr Street, which is one of the city's busiest streets.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in the province bordering Afghanistan, which has witnessed many attacks by extremist groups, violence that has intensified since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
