Five leaders of the Union Democratic Party, a Sudanese opposition group, held a reconciliatory meeting in Cairo Saturday where they agreed on a six-point memorandum to reactivate the party’s political role.
According to the Arabic daily, Al Ra’y Al Aam, the party issued a communiqué urging its cadres to share in a “ reconstruction process,” which should be based on “democracy and freedom of choice regarding the election of the party’s leaders.”
