ALBAWABA—Blasts were reported on Tuesday, and Sudanese Armed Forces are clashing with paramilitaries Rapid Support Forces near the capital, Khartoum, AFP said.

Fresh attacks are intensifying between the Sudanese regular army and the RSF in Omdurman, Khartoum's twin city, the army announced on Tuesday, adding that the clashes are part of a "large-scale" offensive.

The Sudanese army revealed that the aim of the new operation is to kick the paramilitaries, with which it has been at war since April 2023, out of their last positions in Khartoum state.

The Sudanese war began between the Sudanese army, led by leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the RSF, headed by former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, known as Hemedti.
