A court in Sudan on Wednesday condemned 88 people to death in Southern Darfur province for involvement in the deaths of over 100 villagers in tribal clashes in May, the official news agency SUNA said.
The sentences were handed down by an emergency court in Niyala town in the province of western Sudan.
The court, established under emergency legislation in force since 1999, gave those sentenced to death one week to appeal to the Supreme Court in the capital of Khartoum, the news agency added. (Albawaba.com)
