Subject Press Release: The 9th Arab Media Forum to Take Place on May

 Dubai Press Club has announced that the 9th Arab Media Forum would take place May 12 &13, 2010 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The felicitation of the winners of the 9th edition of the Arab Journalism Award would be held at the end of the two-day program.

 

 

Mona Al Marri, Chairperson, Dubai Press Club and Arab Media Forum, said: “The press club team is now working hard to complete the preparations for the 9th edition of the Arab Media Forum. The program will be marked by comprehensiveness and depth of presentation, scientific approach to the subjects and issues dealt with and well-studies projections about the future of Arab and world media.”

 

 

Al Marri added: “The pioneers of Arab Media are used to the forum, which presents an integrated picture of the state of the media in the Arab world and beyond as well as a futuristic vision about potential developments in a way that helps policy makers and media owners and media persons make decisions and draw up future plans. The Forum is the largest gathering of media persons in the region.”

 

 

Al Marri said that the Press Club will take advantage of the findings of the Arab Media Outlook 2009 -2013, which was launched recently, to prepare the program of the forum in order to bring the breadth and depth of the research behind the report to bear up on the content of the forum.

 

 

The forum will include a heavy program schedule touching up all areas of relevance to the media industry, especially the latest changes and challenges thrown up by political, social, technological and economic developments.

 

 

The last media forum, held at Atlantis Hotel on the changing dynamics of the media, was addressed by more than 60 speakers from around the region and beyond. More than 2000 people attended the event, including editors in chief of media organizations, columnists, thinkers and media persons.

 

 

The Press Club has disclosed that the details of the venue and the program of the forum will be announced later.
