Strategic Real Estate Advisors (StratREAL®) has appointed Major General Arthur Denaro CBE, the former Middle East Advisor to the Secretary of State for Defence and former Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, as Special Advisor for the Middle East.
Major General Denaro spent six years, until 2002, as Middle East Advisor to the Secretary of State for Defence and travelled frequently to the Middle East to continue, develop and establish close contacts in the region.
During his career in the British Army, Major General Denaro was involved in operations around the world with UK Special Forces, commanded his armoured regiment in the war to liberate Kuwait, and spent three years as Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Major General Denaro was educated at Downside School and commissioned from Sandhurst in 1968 into the Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars. As a young officer he spent the majority of his time commanding tank troops in the British Army of the Rhine and with UK Special Forces.
Thereafter he commanded the Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars in the first Gulf War, and was Chief of Staff of some 44,000 multinational troops during the Balkans conflict. He commanded an armoured brigade at the end of the Cold War, and was Chief of Staff British Forces Cyprus. His final appointment was as General Officer Commanding the West of the UK.

He retired from the Army in February 2003 and is now involved in leadership training at all levels, and continues to be connected to the Middle East as an advisor to a number of British companies.
He is Hon Colonel of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, the Royal Wessex Yeomanry and Colonel of The Queen’s Royal Hussars (Queen’s Own and Royal Irish). He is also Chairman of the Army Benevolent Fund in Hereford.
Major General Denaro was awarded the OBE for the Gulf War and the CBE for the Former Yugoslavia. Major General Denaro was an advisor to the Crown Prince of Bahrain for four years and is an Extra Equerry to HRH The Prince of Wales.
