This Holy Month of Ramadan, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Middle East will be celebrating an ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative that will bring more than 30 of their properties in the region together for a worthy cause.

On August 17th, 2010, during the hour of Iftar, representatives from all participating Starwood hotels including [Add details of properties for each market] will distribute fast-breaking packs of food and drinks to cab drivers as they drive through the main entrance of each hotel.

“The purpose of the initiative is to give a little something back to cab drivers, who are always on the go and can struggle to find time to break their fast during Ramadan,” said Guido De Wilde, Vice President & Regional Director, Starwood Middle East.  “Many of these drivers come to our properties every day to serve our guests, so this is just a small gesture to show our appreciation.”

De Wilde added, “We are thrilled with the dedication our properties have shown for this initiative.  While our hotels will run their own promotions, they have really come together to support this truly worthwhile initiative.”

Catering teams at each property will prepare up to 200 Iftar packs for drivers, which will include a variety of food and beverages. Staff from all departments within the hotels – including catering, administration, and guest services - are working together on the ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative.
