ALBAWABA - A stabbing attack on a train left 10 people injured, CNN reported, confirming that counterterrorism police open a probe into the case to determine the motivation of the attack.
The police in England released a statement, saying that nine of the 10 injured are suffering life-threatening injuries.
British Transport Police said late Saturday that the stabbing attack is "a major incident" and that "Counter Terrorism Policing are supporting our investigation."
The police further mentioned that two suspects have been arrested near the Cambridgeshire town of Huntingdon.
On X, the police wrote, "The train involved was the 6.25 p.m. service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. A full update will follow shortly."
"Ten people have been taken to the hospital, with nine believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries. One is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There have been no fatalities," a police statement read.
In detail, the CNN reported that the British police received a call at 7.42 p.m. over the attack on the service from the northern city of Doncaster to London’s King’s Cross.
