In a parliamentary response to a question by the Basque MP, Josu Erkoreka, the Spanish government underlined Morocco's "media transparency" and stressed that the Moroccan authorities block out or limited free media reports during the violent events, which took place in the Sahara in the last months.

The events started, reports Maghrebe Arabe Presse, when Moroccan authorities intervened to restore order following clashes with a number of individuals, who tried to prevent the penitentiary authorities from transferring a common law convict.
