The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has recently signed an agreement with the Saudi Telecommunications Company to transmit its news services in Arabic and English through wireless application protocol (WAP) technology, said a press release by the Saudi Information center.
The agreement was signed after the approval by minister of information, Fouad bin Abdul Salam Al-Farsy.
According to the agreement, SPA will have 10 subscriptions for the WAP service. In turn, the company will transmit the news through WAP according to the conditions of the agreement.
The company initiated this service at the beginning of 2001.
The contents of SPA news dispatches will cover the most important local and international news items in both Arabic and English languages, said the press release – Albawaba.com
