ALBAWABA - A Jeju Air flight coming from Bangkok, Thailand recently crashed in South Korea leaving more than 122 dead from its 181 passengers and crew staff on Sunday morning, according to CNN. 

By the time of writing this article, 54 have been identified as male and 56 as female while the remaining 11 individuals remain unknown, as revealed by South Korean authorities. The on-service fire team disclosed that only two crew members survived the crash, one female and one male. on the contrary, the remaining passengers were presumed dead.

A video circulating across Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) showcased a Jeju Air Boeing 737 plane attempting to land at Muan International Airport without landing gear. The plane ended up sliding across the airport's runway and exploding. 

Boeing took to its official social media account and offered its condolences to families who lost loved ones. It wrote, "We extend our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones, and our thoughts remain with the passengers and crew."

The Aircraft industry giant added, "We are in contact with Jeju Air regarding Flight 2216 and stand ready to support them." 

The cause of the fatal accident remains unclear but according to Yonhap news agency, it might've been caused by a flock of birds which caused a malfunction.
