ALBAWABA - The Israeli army said it bombed Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs. Israeli media said the operation targeted Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

Lebanese Health Ministry said initial reports showed that at least two people were killed and 76 others were injured in the Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburb, targeting Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari acknowledged the air force's assault on Hezbollah's primary command center and said the military would continue to target "terrorist threats" against Israeli citizens in Lebanon.

In the wake of the airstrikes, Reuters quoted a source close to Hezbollah confirming that Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is alive. Additionally, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency cited security sources, stating that Nasrallah is in a safe location, dismissing Israeli media reports as inaccurate.

Israeli Army Radio said that F-35 fighter planes knocked out bunkers with 2,000-pound bombs. The strike targeted Hezbollah's General Staff headquarters, with Nasrallah as the principal target, but he may have been there.

According to Kan, Israel informed the US of the intended bombing on Beirut's southern suburbs. In response, Israel has raised air defense, intelligence, and emergency service alerts.

A medical source informed Al Jazeera that Israeli airstrikes in the southern suburbs killed and injured people.

Al Jazeera's reporter witnessed 10 explosions in Beirut's southern neighborhoods on Friday evening after the airstrikes. Attacks occurred near the airport road, Bir Hassan, and Al-Zahraa Hospital.

The strikes, some of the most severe since the escalation, destroyed much. Large clouds of smoke rose from Harat Hreik and other southern suburbs after many structures collapsed.

A Hezbollah source told AFP that Israeli airstrikes damaged six structures.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left a New York press session suddenly because to Beirut developments, according to Israeli media.
