With High Definition taking the lead in today’s televisions, Sony Gulf has announced the latest addition to its BRAVIA LCD television range, the 46-inch S-series, the KLV-46S200A. The 46-inch BRAVIA is priced at AED 13,999 and is available at all Jumbo Electronics outlets across the UAE.
KLV-46S200 is HD-ready with support for both 1080i and 720p High Definition signals.  It also supports High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input for High Definition digital video and audio streaming via one cable from source to television eliminating the hassle and sight of messy wires. Users can also connect their PC to KLV-46S200 via a PC (HD15) cable, using 46inch TV as a large screen monitor.

Sony’s newly developed BRAVIA Engine is the first to be implemented in the KLV-46S200A. This one chip digital processor reproduces pictures in enhanced contrast to produce sharp and vivid colours with complex noise reduction techniques. It generates high saturation in greens, blues and strengthens the blacks to make viewing more credible and filled with life. In addition, it reduces MPEG noise to form clearer and sharper edges. The Sony panel provides an ultra-wide viewing angle of 178 degrees, allowing one to enjoy the BRAVIA LCD television from many positions, as well as by many more viewers at the same time, while ensuring that colours remain rich and bright. This greater advantage of viewing also allows flexible placement of the television set. The Sony panel also delivers high contrast ratio, giving deeper depths in dark scenes for a three-dimensional feel.

“Within weeks after our introduction of the BRAVIA line in the Middle East, we claimed top market share in the flat panel television market,” said Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, managing director, Sony Gulf. “We look to build upon this leadership with the launch of the new 46-inch BRAVIA. The new 46-inch BRAVIA expands Sony’s LCD flat-panel television line-up and offers a variety of sizes with great performance to meet the needs of all consumers,” he added.

Complementing the picture quality of KLV-46S200 is SRS TruSurround XT that delivers a virtual surround-sound experience. This gives viewers the immersion into the show especially for action-packed movies. For news and talk shows, KLV-46S200 offers dialog clarity that increases the crispness of the voices to bring it closer to the listeners. Even without the installation of 5.1ch surround sound speakers, dynamic surround sound can still be enjoyed in the comfort of one’s home.
Other useful features of KLV-46S200 include setting the television to turn itself off automatically, acting as a clock with its time display function and a power saving mode to reduce electricity costs. Its silent start prevents startling the user with loud volume from the last use.
