Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, information minister and son of United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, married a cousin from his own Abu Dhabi ruling family.
Sheikh Abdullah wed the daughter of former health minister Sheikh Saif bin Mohammad al-Nahyan on Thursday night, AFP reported.
The knot was tied behind closed doors in a ceremony at which he was the only male amid scenes of singing and dancing.
Scores of sheikhs from all Gulf states attended the event. Bahrain's King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah were among the guests in addition to more than 500 leading actors, artists, intellectuals and Arab journalists. (Albawaba.com)
