ALBAWABA - Unnecessary personnel were told that it is better to depart the American air base in Qatar, known as Al-Udeid air base, by Wednesday evening amid fears of Iranian attack, Reuters cited three diplomats informed of the matter.

On the other hand, Reuters contacted the U.S. embassy in Doha, which didn't respond.

This comes amid expected tension between Iran and Israel following the latest anti-regime protests in Tehran, which the Iranian government accused Israel and the U.S. of fueling.

On the other hand, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Washington will strike Iran if the government kills protesters. In return, Tehran said it will attack Israel and American military bases in the Middle East if it is attacked.

Al-Udeid air base is the largest U.S. base in the Middle East. It hosts approximately 10,000 troops.
