Somali gunmen target Central Park ship in a piracy attack: Pentagon

The US Navy confirmed receiving a distress call from Central Park while navigating the Red Sea, near the Gulf of Aden, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

ALBAWABA- In a recent statement, the Pentagon revealed that the assailants behind the attack on the Central Park ship are believed to be Somalis, suggesting a potential link to piracy. 

According to John Kirby's remarks to ABC, the initial assessment is positive, as the ship remained undamaged, and none of its crew members were harmed.

The missiles fired during the incident landed at a safe distance from the USS Manson. Notably, Kirby had earlier expressed the challenge of identifying the perpetrators behind the attack on the USS Mason. 

Furthermore, the US Navy confirmed receiving a distress call from Central Park while navigating the Red Sea, near the Gulf of Aden, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
