Global Village, member of Tatweer Dubai, the prime tourism destination in Dubailand, provides its patrons with innovative entertainment concepts through the mixture of contemporary trends and traditional legacies. Recently, Global Village brought its patrons the Skywheel Stunt Show, a breathtaking acrobatic entertainment that comes to the Middle East for the very first time.

By the Global Village Lake, visitors can see the towering quadruple skywheel with four holes (rings). During the Skywheel Stunt Show, four acrobat members of the Skywheel Group including Alex Ramien, Marko Simeonow, Pavel Chaska and Ilian Simeonow, take on the risk of walking, jumping, and leaping in and out of these rings. Words are not enough to describe the overwhelming reactions that the spectators feel while eyeing at the gravity-defying stunts.

The show lasts for 12 minutes while the wheel turns approximately every five seconds. The Skywheel Stunt Show has three sets of acts. The first set allows them to provide the audience the chance to see them walking in and out of the rings. The second set is more dangerous as two of the acrobats go out of the rings, try to do the jumping rope, and leap. The last act is the most dangerous with one acrobat walking outside the ring on a blindfold.

Although the performance is filled with hair-raising risks, the Skywheel Group has performed for 18 years in different countries including the United States, Singapore, Thailand, and most of Europe. According to one of the members, and acting emcee during the show, Alex Ramien said, “We have been doing this since we were young. In acrobat, you learn by doing. Even though we have been performing for such a long time we still feel excited and a bit anxious every time. We have a good audience here in Global Village. They appreciate what we do, and we find it more inspiring every time we do the show.”

Three shows are presented every single night from 15 January 2009 until the end of this year’s edition on 21 February 2009.
