Specialist training provider SkillSet today announced that Steve Brand, director, has been elected to chair Fleming Gulf's 3rd Annual People Challenge Middle East. The conference will be held in Abu Dhabi between 29 November and 1 December 2010.
The conference aims to address the challenges facing businesses in the current economic downturn, with renowned experts from companies such as HP, Saudi Aramco and The World Bank addressing over 80 senior-level executives from across the region. Key topics during the event include recruitment and retention, change management and succession planning.
Steve Brand comments: "HR has a much more strategic role in today's organisations and in this environment people are central to a company's success. Companies across the globe must change and adapt to the new economic climate and the challenges it brings; failure to embrace that change will be to the detriment of the organisation and its staff. As a result, we need to adopt a much more tactical approach to HR and I'm pleased to be invited to chair this crucial session."
After chairing the opening day of the conference on Monday 29 November, Steve will then present a post-conference workshop, entitled 'All change – the train terminates here', on Wednesday 1 December. The interactive workshop will look at the strategic considerations of successfully managing organisational change programmes, identifying positive routes to success.
