Israeli security sources said on Friday that two soldiers and six Palestinian demonstrators were injured during clashes at the village of Bal'een in the West Bank. The sources said that Israeli border police guards were dispatched to the village in order to quell a protest by locals and international activists against the construction of the Israeli "Separation Barrier."
After shooting rubber bullets and tear gas bombs, Palestinian youth started hurling stones at the soldiers, wounding an officer and a soldier lightly.
On the other hand, Israeli soldiers wounded four Palestinians and two Israeli peace activists. Seven Palestinians from the village were detained.
According to RNA, the village of Bal'een has been witnessing weekly demonstrations every Friday to protest the confiscation of lands by Israel to build its barrier.
