sico supports bahraini charities and healthcare
SICO Investment Bank (SICO) today has reported that its annual contributions for the year are worth BD23 thousand as of end of June 2007. The contributions were made to a number of healthcare institutions and charities serving a cross section of Bahraini society.
The donations of cash and equipment are part of an annual programme of contributions made by SICO and form part of its commitment to support the community in which it operates, with an emphasis on supporting education and health issues in Bahrain.
The beneficiary organizations include: the Bahraini Association for Mental Retardation; the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society; Child Care Home, the American Mission Hospital, Salmaniya Medical Center and other charities.
“We think that businesses should not only create value through their economic activity but also play an active role in the societies within which they operate. Education and healthcare are the fundamental building blocks of any modern society, especially a society such as Bahrain, where its key resource is its people. The significance of education and healthcare is why we have worked with these sectors of society over the past six years,” said Mr. Anthony Mallis, Chief Executive Officer of SICO.
“Through our annual donations programme, SICO aims to extend an ongoing partnership with organizations and institutions engaged in the betterment of Bahraini society.”
