Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing invited Shura Council Members, to attend a session on smart building technology, where it presented the dignitaries with detailed information on the new initiative of Smart Homes that aims to provide more durable and energy efficient housing to the citizens of Bahrain.
The session was held on Tuesday the 9th of February at the site in Hamad Town which showcases the prototype of the Smart Homes.
The units are constructed making use of the so called lightweight steel frame technology, an international “best practice” in construction.
The attending dignitaries were given a tour of the prototype home and a presentation was made by an official representative of the Ministry of Housing, explaining the technology and the benefits of Smart Homes to an appreciative audience comprising of the Members of Parliament.
The feedback from the Shura council Members was positive as they all unanimously highlighted the fact that these houses will end the issue of housing problems throughout the Kingdom while offering its citizens pleasant living environments in durable, strong and safe houses.
This visit by the Shura Council Members is one of the many upcoming visits of dignitaries and opinion leaders who the Ministry of Housing had invited to enable them to get an understanding of the new building technique and the ministry’s housing scheme that will meet the economic vision 2030.

The recently completed prototype “Smart Homes” in Hamad Town, are designed to accommodate the traditional Bahraini lifestyle.
