Israel's domestic intelligence agency, Shin Beit, is to hand over responsibility for southern Lebanon to the military intelligence service, the daily Maariv reported Thursday.

The move follows the end of Israel's 22-year occupation of southern Lebanon on May 24th.

Maariv said dozens of Shin Bet agents, who operated with success out of a hotel in northern Galilee, had already been transferred elsewhere - OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (AFP)
