Marshal Mohammed bin Dato, Head of the Malaysian Medical Military Unit at the Afghan Refugee camp on the Pakistani border town of Chaman, hailed Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan at a visit to the camp last week.
The Malaysian Social Worker praised the humanitarian and relief efforts of the UAE Red Crescent Society in war-stricken Afghanistan. Colonel Mohammed Sharoura, Commander of Border Brigade at Chaman, also thanked the UAE government and people for their vital role in supporting and aiding the people of his country at such difficult times.
The Malaysian official and his accompanying Pakistani delegation were briefed by Camp Supervisor, Hashim Ali Hashim on the Red Crescent Society’s efforts to ease the suffering of Afghan refugees. During the visit, Dato witnessed the distribution of food and other essential supplies to the Afghan families.
Pakistani officials also appreciated the UAE humanitarian and relief assistance. Brigadier Ethar Jaffrey, Military Commander at Quetta region praised Sheikh Zayed's generosity in assisting the suffering people, "The UAE relief assistance has helped ease suffering of the Afghan refugees".
