ALBAWABA- Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2026 officially kicked off on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), showcasing the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to global environmental leadership.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who welcomed heads of state, ministers, business leaders, investors, and experts from over 170 countries.
Hosted by Masdar, the UAE’s renewable energy pioneer, this year’s edition runs under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” emphasizing cross-sector collaboration to advance AI-driven energy systems, climate finance, food and water security, and resilient infrastructure. The program aims to accelerate systemic solutions for sustainable development and international climate action.
Launched in 2008 as part of the UAE’s vision for economic diversification and environmental stewardship, ADSW has grown into one of the world’s largest sustainability platforms.
Originally part of the World Future Energy Summit, the week-long event now features forums, exhibitions, and initiatives that foster dialogue on decarbonization, renewable energy, and inclusive growth, attracting more than 50,000 participants annually. It serves as a hub for international partnerships, investment opportunities, and policy innovation.
ADSW aligns with the UAE’s broader strategies, including Green Agenda 2030 and the nation’s net-zero emissions target by 2050, with interim goals such as 32% renewable energy by 2030 and advanced carbon capture projects.
President Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the event on X, emphasizing its role in generating innovative solutions for humanity and reaffirming the UAE’s focus on cooperation, innovation, and global climate leadership.
