Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's condition remains serious but stable, and an electroencephalogram indicated activity in both brain lobes, officials at Hadassah University Hospital, said Saturday evening. According to Haaretz, there was no expansion of ventricle walls after the removal of a drainage catheter, the hospital added.
On Friday, Sharon was not showing any signs that he was regaining consciousness, although doctors have been trying to get him out of his induced coma since Monday. They have been gradually reducing the dosage of the sedatives he has been receiving in the wake of the stroke and cerebral hemorrhage he underwent about ten days ago.
Sharon continues to be hooked up to a respirator, while also breathing on his own, and his life continues to be in danger, hospital officials conveyed.
