Shaikh Hamdan Attends Mass Wedding

Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, attended on Tuesday the first-ever mass wedding ceremony organized by the civic body, according to Khaleej Times

 

Accompanied by Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of Communications and Transport, and Qassim Sultan, Director General of Dubai Municipality, Shaikh Hamdan greeted the 12 excited bridegrooms and shook hands with each of them before joining them for a group photo session.  

 

The fancy wedding ceremony took place at the Dubai Municipality Staff Club, which was nicely decorated, for the first such occasion in its history. Amidst the joyous atmosphere of traditional songs and dances presented by a 45-member group, guests including high-ranking officials from the Dubai Municipality and other government organizations congratulated the bridegrooms.  

 

Obeid Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General for Administrative and General Services Affairs at the Dubai Municipality, received the guests on behalf of the municipality. The Public Parks and Horticulture Department decorated the place with flowers, lights and the UAE flag. An open-air buffet tasty dinner was organized for an estimated 1,000 guests.  

 

Three of those who got married were women employees. The others were: Marwan Mohammed Abdullah, Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim, Mishal Yousef Al Bishri, Ahmed Ismail Mohammed Karam, Ali Hassan Ali, Hamad Abdullah Mohammed Ali, Suhail Tayeb Al Awadi, Mansour Hussain Ali Abdullah and brothers Hamed Ahmed Baqer and Essam Ahmed Baqer.
