Seven Israelis were shot and wounded, one of them critically, early Friday in the West Bank city as they tried to enter a disputed holy site, Israeli rescue officials and the military said.
The seven were near Joseph's Tomb, a site inside Nablus, when they were shot. The military sent soldiers to rescue them.
The seven were members of a Jewish Hassidic sect, and entered the tomb along with other worshippers in order to pray at the site. The attackers approached the worshippers' vehicle as they left the site, and opened fire. Other passengers in the vehicle were arrested by Israeli police for entering the Palestinian area unauthorized, reports said.
The military wing of Fatah, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. (Albawaba.com)
