ALBAWABA - A series of Israeli strikes on various sites in central Syria killed at least 14 people and injured more than 40, Syrian official news agency SANA reported.

As reports emerged of the damage caused by the Israeli strike, SANA reported that "The Israeli aggression caused the martyrdom of 14 civilians and the injury of 43 others,".

Two regional intelligence sources told Reuters that a series of strikes targeted a major military research center for arms production near Misyaf city in Syria. "It is believed to house a team of Iranian military experts involved in weapons production" the sources stated.

State media reported that firefighters and emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the scene to put out what appeared to be two massive fires caused by the strikes.

"The aggression also caused material damage to Masyaf-Wadi al-Uyun highway, while the fire broke out in the Hair Abbas area due to the aggression," SANA added.

The Israeli army has yet to release a confirmation of responsibility for the attack.
