Senior Daesh commander killed in NATO airstrike in Afghanistan

A NATO drone killed three Daesh militants, including their commander, in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, an official said.

The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogiani, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone targeted a vehicle carrying insurgent commander, Qari Sajjad, on Tuesday afternoon in Achin district, killing Sajjad and two others.

Some ammunition and weapons were also destroyed in the air raid that took place Zorda Sarak area at about 2pm, he said.

There has been no word from Daesh about the drone strike.
