ALBAWABA - Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) compared Israel's Gaza war to the US's atomic bombing of Japan. Graham advised Israel to end the Gaza war with severe methods, including nuclear weapons.

Graham told NBC's Kristin Welker on Meet the Press that Israel might cause civilian fatalities in Gaza because of the U.S.'s 1940s actions against Japan. He said the U.S. concluded the war with Japan by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, notwithstanding civilian deaths.

Graham's demand that Israel obtain the armaments needed to finish the war quickly, disregarding civilian losses, shocked many. He suggested that the U.S. help Israel reduce deaths, but airstrikes are indiscriminate, making this difficult.

The senator's analogy was criticized since historical background challenges the U.S.'s nuclear use on Japan. Critics have long questioned the bombs' morality and necessity, which caused widespread human suffering and health issues.

As tensions rise in Gaza and worries of an Israeli invasion grow, Graham's views are crucial. The UN and Biden administration have raised humanitarian concerns over such a move, underlining the need to avert greater damage in the area.

The world community observes Graham's controversial statements and urges moderation and diplomatic measures to deescalate Gaza.
