Houthi rebels launched a large-scale operation on Saudi troops at Medi, a port city near the Saudi border, in retaliation for ongoing Saudi raids in Sanaa, Yemen.

Houthis reclaimed parts of the border area from Yemeni Loyalist troops. According to sources for RT Arabic, Houthis claimed two Saudi soldiers were killed in the operation near Qilal Alshebany, a border area between Sa’da and Najran. The UAE independently announced that one Emirati soldier was also killed in the border clashes.

The media center for Yemeni Loyalists, who are fighting in favor of embattled President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, issued a statement reaffirming their support of the Saudi-led Arab coalition. The media center further confirmed that fighting between Houthis and coalition forces led to the deaths of at least 50, with dozens wounded.

The Arab coalition is continuing airstrikes on Houthi positions near Medi, with at least 40 airstrikes destroying military equipment and vehicles.

The fighting is ongoing.
