The Saudi Telecommunications Co. announced early this week that it had reduced the charges for internet connections, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The firm decided that the charges for asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL), which provides the subscriber with unlimited open access to the internet at ten times the speed via ordinary telephone lines, stood at SR220 per month, along with a one-time charge of SR300.
According to the agency, the company has also decided to cut current charges by up to 20 percent for the international link between the website of KACST and the internet, to reduce charges for all leased circuits by up to 45 percent, and to slash charges for links to internet service providers (ISPs) with the national network by up to 30 percent.
