Saudi billionaire Prince Walid bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz pledged on Saturday to aid the families of 32 dead and 22 injured in Syria and to finance the quick reconstruction of their collapsed homes.

The prince sent his condolences to Syrian President Bahsar al-Assad and offered an amount of 5,000 dollars to relatives of each dead person and 5,000 dollars each to the injured, according to a statement from his Kingdom Holding company, cited by AFP.

Thirty-two people were killed and at least 22 injured in the collapse of old buildings in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo last week.

The government has allocated about 300 dollars to each family affected by the tragedy, and was trying to relocate them. (Albawaba.com)
