Saudi’s new King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saudhas appointed his son as defense minster, following the death of his predecessor and half brother the late King Abdullah.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as defence minister. He was also given the role of head of the royal court and special advisor to the monarch. Khaled al-Tuwaijri was previously head of the royal court under the late King Abdullah.
At 35 years of age, Prince Mohammed bin Salman is now the youngest member of the Cabinet.
The king decided to keep other ministers in their posts, including those in the foreign, oil and finance departments, Saudi state television reported citing a royal decree.
