Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Saudi Foreign Minister, who on Sunday was on an official visit to Cairo, said that he handed a letter from Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, to the Egyptian President, Mohammed Hosni Mubarak. According to SPA, the letter centered on coordination between the two sides to provide reforms to the Arab situation.
In a press statement following a meeting with Mubarak, Prince Saud said that he discussed with the Egyptian President the ideas forwarded by the Arab League's Secretary General. "We agreed upon coordinating our stances in the matter hoping that we can come up in next Arab summit conference with something that is beneficial to the Arab Nation."
On threats directed against Syria, Prince Saud said "We hope there were no threats to any Arab state, notably Syria, that has announced that it was ready for negotiations and it is strange that when it announces its readiness for negotiation it faces threats."
