A Saudi man has donated a total of $6 million for impoverished Palestinian people and civil institutions in the Occupied Territories, which have lately been strangled by Israeli economic blockades.
The gift was announced by the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on Saturday.
The donor, who preferred anonymity, stipulated that $1 million out of the amount would go to the expansion and installation of medical facilities on the premises of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
The remaining sum is to be allocated to the Al Quds and Intifada funds, set up following the Cairo Arab summit in November to support the Palestinian Intifada, said the IDB in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) - Albawaba.com
