Saudi Arabia and Yemen vowed at the end of their coordination council meetings in Sanaa to "intensify and double their efforts to combat terrorism," the final communique confirmed.
"Terrorism is an international disease that has no religion or nationality. Many countries including Arab states have suffered from terror which threatens security and stability in the region and the world," the communique said Monday.
The meetings chaired by Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Qader Bajammal and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz.
The two countries also expressed satisfaction over the level of cooperation between security authorities in implementing the security pact between them.
According to AFP, unconfirmed media reports have indicated the explosives used in the suicide bombings in Riyadh on May 12 had been smuggled through the 1,800-kilometer border between the two countries.
During the meeting, Bajamal delivered a speech of which he noted that the views of both sides were identical at all levels. He called on businessmen in both countries to have a basic role in the economic, social and culture developments and to participate in building the joint future for the interest of the peoples of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
