Saudi Arabia on Tuesday denied claims by Yemeni rebels that a Scud missile had struck the country, the Associated Press reported.

Houthi rebels late Monday said they had launched a Scud missile at a military base located south of the capital, Riyadh. The Saudi Ministry of Defense issued a statement that said the base is secure, and no missiles have struck.

Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition against Yemen's Shiite Houthis, who overtook the capital in September and led a movement against the Yemen's fugitive President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
